The focus of the first session is to get to know one another and discuss your reasons for seeking counseling as well as how I can help. If it feels like a good fit and you want to schedule again, the second session typically starts with defining your goals and how we will track your progress toward them. We can set a standing appointment after our first session or schedule each appointment individually. Most individual counseling clients start with weekly sessions and reduce frequency over time but some clients start at every two weeks.
